Back from spring break!

Hello All!

I know we are all crawling our way back from Spring break, and most of you probably are not thinking about running and training for the race...but don't be discouraged! The schedule is still available for everyone to participate! I'm going to be more flexible with times, because I understand 7:30 is pretty early for everyone, so please provide a comment as to what time works best! Also, I've been squeezing in some Friday afternoon runs, so please let me know if you'd like to join!!

See you all soon!

The Fire and the Canal

For those of you who regularly run on the canal - whether as part of training or not - here's the skinny on how the massive conflagration has impacted the canal: It seems that the area just in front of the affected apartments is closed down, but the rest of the canal is open.

So run on, good runners!

And for those of you pondering a run today, I'll be out there at 4:30, come join!!!

Thursday 2/26/2009 Training Run

Hello all!
Heather here - The forecast for tomorrow says that there is likely to be some thunderous activity around the time of our scheduled 4:30 p.m. run, but that does not mean that running is precluded. So long as there isn't any lightning, I'll be there - please come join me!!

Hot YOGA!

For all those who don't want to run outside! Here's another opportunity to get in shape and meet a great group of people!

HOT YOGA! There is a new program downtown that I am dying to try. It's called Hot Yoga and it is Yoga but in a room that is heated to around 90 degrees. Here is the website for anyone who is interested:

http://www.invokestudio.com/

I will be going this Sunday with the beautiful Heather to try out the new yoga downtown. Please join me at 4:30 to experience the best yoga ever!

Updated Information

Hello All!

Well, this was certainly an interesting week to start the training program considering we had a huge snow storm! I just wanted to update everyone and remind everyone that we are still on for the program, and unless there are extreme weather issues, there will be someone available to run with you all every day posted! I'm still trying to find the best times to run, and people to help volunteer for a day, so the schedule will be changing slightly for probably the next two weeks. Please be patient, and just check for updates! Also, I'm going to try and send reminder emails, so anyone who is interested in receiving an email, please let me know: mtortorich@gmail.com!

Thank you!

Discussion: NAME

Hello Everyone,

Throughout the weeks that we are training, I'll constantly post discussions for everyone to comment on. To begin with however, I was hoping we could brainstorm ideas for a name. What shall we call ourselves? My initial thought was Health Runners 2009, but that's just a suggestion, and I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts.
